Storm Tracking and Observational Reporting Mission

The STORM & Tides Project works with professionally-trained volunteers to provide high quality information on beach conditions. Of particular interest are the impacts of storms and the occurrence of potentially hazardous conditions, such as rip currents and red tides, or harmful algal blooms (HABs).

In coordination with Mote Marine Laboratory, the STORM project collects data daily on surf and water conditions for South Florida's Beaches and provides real-time information for the public's use and safety.
